Getting to Stansted Airport
From the North
Use the M62 to connect with the A1(M) at the Ferrybridge Roundabout (and
service station). And then follow the A1 all the way to the M11, once travelling
on the M11 you can exit at Junction 8 / 8a to Stansted Airport. Follow the
signs from there.
From Wales or the West
Follow either M6 and the M40 or the M4 (depending on where in the west you
are coming from) to connect with the M25. Once on the M25 follow the road
round London in an Clockwise direction until you are able to exit and connect
with the M11. Then exit the M11 at Junction 8 / 8a and follow signs to the
airport.
From the North
If you are travelling from the South use a major road to connect with M25
and then follow as above.

Stansted Airport is London's third largest airport and is the fourth busiest
airport in the United Kingdom. Serving approximately 18.7 million passengers
per annum, Stansted Airport covers 114 destinations using 20 different airlines
from the 1 terminal and runway.
Stansted Airport was formed by the BAA as a £400 million investment
in April of 1986. Initially Stansted Airport began as a wartime bomber base
in 1942, moving into the public domain in the 1950's. Charter packages took
over in the 1960's and British Airport Authority took control of the airport
in 1966. Currently Stansted Airport has planning permission from
its local authority for facilities to serve around 25 million passengers
per annum.
